Rosie Mercado is a Latina beauty queen, entrepreneur, and a fearless role model. More than this she is a survivor, a woman of substance, and most importantly a woman of God. Life was not easy for her. Before she reached her present stature, she had gone through tough times in life: rejections, criticisms. She claims that she has been a plus size all her life, but she did not allow her size to hinder her goals, nor her circumstances to consume her. Rather, it drives her to strive to become a better person and be transformed into what she is today: a role model, an inspiration to most women, and a victor. She is an awesome person who breaks the barriers in the plus community.

Ms. Mercado is an expert in makeup artistry. Her passion for makeup started when she was in high school doing makeup for proms and likewise started making money from it. Then she found herself as a freelance makeup artist for celebrity actresses as well as magazines and fashion shows. In 2005, Miss Mercado and her team created Miss Bellisima, a line of cosmetic and skincare to benefit women of all ages, skin types and ethnicity. She named it BELLISIMA because it means beautiful and she believes that all women are beautiful.

Her passion for the entertainment industry led her to enter in the Miss Plus America 2009 Pageant where she won several titles: Miss Nevada Plus America 2009, Miss Plus America Runway Model of The Year, Miss Plus America Cover Girl, and Miss Plus America Peoples Choice Award.

This year she is representing plus size women as the Face of Full Figured Fashion Week in New York City. Her greatest passion is standing up in a huge event such as FFFWeek on behalf of the plus size women and tell the media that plus size women have a voice, a heart, a passion and a talent. In February next year she will be seen again in another huge spectacular event called The Curvy Revolution in Las Vegas. At present she is connected as a plus size model at the House of Curves Talent and Modeling Agency.
