Consistently outshining, New Yorker model Crystal Renn received the Ultimate Catwalk Queen Award during the Cosmpolitan’s Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2010 held recently in London. Among the many celebrities and real women in attendance at the ceremony was 2009′s winner Kimberley Walsh, an English pop singer-songwriter, dancer, model and actress.
The awarding ceremony was held to celebrate and to give recognition to the accomplishments of celebrities and real life women. It is in furtherance with Cosmopolitan’s mission to inspire women to become an inspiration to other women as well.
Crystal Renn is an outspoken and opinionated model who believes that size is beautiful. She hates the term ‘plus size model’. She was labeled as a plus size model, but for her a model is still a model independent of size. She authored the book “Hungry” that accounts her own story when she first entered the modeling industry. From a struggling teenage model confronted with health issues like eating disorder in order to survive in the cut-throat modeling world, she transformed into a self-controlled, self-assured woman, thus turning into one of the top and most-sought after plus size models.
