A Canadian entrepreneur, model agent, women’s health advocate, and a hero to real women everywhere, Ben Barry always thinks and acts out of the conventional who breaks the stereotypes and redefines society’s perception about beauty. He was acknowledged for all his efforts in the reshaping of the fashion industry into one that truly reflects a realistic society. He envisions a representation of real women in all facets (in prints, runways, television, etc.) of the modeling industry. He wants to see a society that regards beauty as not being confined to the physical appearance of the person, but even beyond what the eyes can behold.
Mr. Barry’s career started at the early age of 14 when he helped a friend after being rejected from modeling because she was too big. Since then he developed the passion and commitment in the reshaping of the fashion industry.
This man of diverse talent is the founder and CEO of the Ben Barry Agency, which was established in 1995, a modeling agency and consultancy that embraces and engages models of diversity. The agency scouts and sources models of 
different sizes, ages, heights, shapes, ethnicities or color, backgrounds and abilities for fashion and beauty brands. These models are all representing the widest sector of the population, the consumers who undeniably are of different body types, races or colors, backgrounds, etc. The consumers are the lifeblood and the reason of being of the fashion industry that deserved a true representation.
Mr. Barry has played a significant role in the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, a campaign launched in 2004, which featured real women, not models, advertising Dove’s firming cream. The advertising campaign was centered on the promotion of real and innate beauty to counterbalance society’s unrealistic standard of beauty.
He is also an author. He wrote the Canadian bestseller “Fashioning A Reality: A New Generation of Entrepreneurship”. His second book, “Beyond Beauty: Discovering, Challenging, and Refining Beauty” was based on his doctoral research on perceptions of beauty around the world.
