Weight or size discrimination is growing rapidly everywhere – in the workplace, education system, and healthcare system. This reality calls for the legislators to give serious consideration to the proposed constitutional amendment that will afford protection and special rights to the majority of American population that belongs to overweight or obese.
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has issued an executive order banning sodas, sports drinks, artificially flavored water and juice with added sweeteners on vending machines in public places. The executive order was issued few months ago, but the effect of its impact has started to be felt only last week.

The biggest drama series ‘Huge’ had premiered on ABC Family last June 28, 2010. Airs Monday nights, 9PM, the new TV series is about a group of seven male and female teens who in their effort to gain acceptance, struggle to reduce pounds while at a summer camp. The awesome character of Willhelmina being played by Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky makes the story more interesting. Willhelmina is a rebellious girl who go against the rules at the fitness camp. She thinks weight loss is foolish. She is happy with her size and refuses to believe she is ugly just because she is fat. Is the airing of a plus show like ‘Huge’ indicates that acceptance of obesity in America is increasing?
Plus Teen USA invites plus size teens all across America who are qualified to enter as delegates to the Plus Teen USA Pageant, a recession friendly, and internet based pageant. Delegates will positively represent plus size teens throughout their local communities as they compete for the title of Plus Teen USA, 2011. Deadline of entry is on September 1, 2011.
