Lacerda Fluvia Lacerda The New Face For BenizeFluvia Lacerda, a Brazilian bombshell and hottest plus size model hitting the fashion world across the globe, is representing as the new face for Benize.  One of the most beautiful faces in plus size modeling, she was awarded as the Plus Commercial Print Model of the Year during the celebration of Full Figured Fashion Week last June 2011 in New York City.

With a populace that is getting larger in size, it is noteworthy to see fashion models or images via advertisements that the plus size consumers can relate to.

Benize, whose motto is “Be Nice With Your Size” is an online store specializing in plus size fashion.  It offers the latest fashions not just for women, but for men as well in large sizes.

The Curvy Fashionista1 The Curvy Fashionista Is A Finalist To The Black Weblog Awards 2011I am an avid follower of The Curvy Fashionista Curvy.Confident.Chic, and it feels good to know that the blog is a finalist to the Black Weblog Awards 2011 under the Best Plus Size Blog category.  The Curvy Fashionista Curvy.Confident.Chic is a leading lifestyle blog created in 2008 by Marie Denee that caters to the Curvy.Confident.Chic plus size women.

The blog keeps you and me updated with all that is happening in the plus industry, from the hottest trends and options on fashion and style, to health and beauty tips, to news and events all exclusive for plus size women.

Marie Denee is a plus size fashion and style expert and has been in the retail industry for quite a number of years. Obviously, it is her love affair with plus size fashion that has driven her to create her own plus size fashion blog, The Curvy Fashionista Curvy.Confident.Chic.

It was Marie Denee along with plus blogger Johara Tucker who created in June 2009 The Curvy Collective (The Fashion Front) that marie denee The Curvy Fashionista Is A Finalist To The Black Weblog Awards 2011serves as the frontline of Full Figured Fashion Week. The Curvy Collective is a group of leading fashion bloggers from the plus size community, specially created to capture and deliver the latest news, to access behind the scenes, and all events exclusively for the Full Figured Fashion Week.

Marie Denee represented fashion in the Chevrolet’s  New Chevy Cruze campaign called CRUZE-ARATI. Now her latest fashion adventure launching very soon is the new E-book: Keeping it Curvy.Confident.Chic.

What is the Black Blog Awards?

The Black Weblog Awards was founded in 2005 to give recognition to Black bloggers (and those of the African diaspora) which were largely overlooked by other Internet award events online. What started out as a barely-known event has now grown into an international showcase. With participants from over 90 countries, the Black Weblog Awards stands out as one of the most widespread Internet award events for Black bloggers.

To date, the Black Weblog Awards has recognized nearly 180 blogs in over 30 categories. The Awards has also been featured in several mainstream and online media outlets, including NPR, CNN, and others. Winners of the Black Weblog Awards have also went on to appear in other media outlets, like MSNBC, the Huffington Post, BET, and many others.

A new magazine called POSE has joined the ranks of plus magazines available on the web that are dedicated to the plus size models.

POSE Magazine is the fruit of the creativity of Tiffany Jones, the Affiliate Director of  Plus Academy CHARLOTTE, an elite plus modelling training and development program dedicated to plus size women.

Along with the existing plus magazines like the PLUS Model Magazine, POSE Magazine is a great resource online to serve the needs of the plus size models, to inform and to inspire them.

The magazine tagline “A unique plus lifestyle periodical” speaks for itself that it is distinct from other resources of similar kind.  A one of a kind that comes in black and white, the magazine looks classic that yields amazing photos. Best of all it is a wonderful read and a helpful resource for plus size models.

The inaugural issue features a respected name in the plus industry, no other than Gwen Devoe who is the founder and Executive Director of Plus Academy CHARLOTTE, and Executive Producer of Full Figured Fashion Week.

Introducing The Winner of PLUS Model Magazine/City Chic Model Search

Nicole Esperanza was announced  winner of the recently launched PLUS Model Magazine/City Chic Plus Model Search.  She will be flown to NYC for a shoot with PLUS Model Magazine, and to model for City Chic website. She will also receive a one-year contract with Natural Models Management and an invitation to walk in the Full Figured Fashion Week this June 2011.

There were more than 500 hopefuls, but only one must win. With this great number of entries, the judges must have gone through a very careful process of narrowing them down into 17 finalist and eventually choosing one grand winner.

The second and third runner ups are Karyn Johnson and Kelle Coleman who will each receive a gift certificate from City Chic, the leading Australian plus size fashion brand.
