Coast To Coast Plus Model Search May Editorial Of PLUS Model Magazine Features Ashley Stewart Model Search WinnersLast February this year, Ashley Stewart launched a bi-coastal plus size modelling  search held simultaneously in New York hosted by PLUS Model Magazine, and in Los Angeles hosted by Chenese Lewis.

A number of hopeful models patiently lined up under an unfavorable weather in both coasts, for a once in a lifetime experience to  pose  for   PLUS Model Magazine. However, only one contestant had to be chosen from each coast. And the model search winners were Erin J. Bursts from Los Angeles and Yolanda Elston from New York.

Now you can see both winners in the May edition of PLUS Model Magazine fabulously dressed up in the latest fashions of Ashley Stewart.  Below is only a part of their photo shoots for the editorial. Hopeful models dared through the bad weather to join the Ashley Stewart Coast To Coast Plus Model Search,  and they made it into a great success.The Los Angeles event was hosted by Chenese Lewis, while the New York event  by Madeline Figueroa Jones, editor of PLUS Model magazine.

Winners of the plus model search are Erin J. Burts from Los Angeles and Yolanda Elston from New York. They were announced last  Monday on the show of  PLUS Model Radio through the Ashley Stewart representatives Jan Harvey, Strategic Marketing and Social Media, and  Lauren Smith, Multimedia Marketing Designer, and also the editor of PLUS Model Magazine, Madeline Figueroa Jones.

Introducing the Finalist of Ashley Stewart Coast To Coast Model Search

Last Friday, February 25, the auditions for the Ashley Stewart Coast To Coast Model Search pushed through in the midst of the bad weather that stroked the coasts of New York and Los Angeles. Not minding the weather condition, model hopefuls showed up at the NYC Flagship store in Harlem and Westfield Culver City store in Los Angeles.

The model search was hosted by Chenese Lewis in New York and PLUS Model Magazine in Los Angeles. They teamed up with Ashley Stewart in choosing the 10 best contestants from each coast to compose the finalist.

Calling and encouraging all women and girls to tell their own stories particularly their struggles and success about body image, and to celebrate their bodies and reject unrealistic and unhealthy stick-thin images portrayed on the billboards, magazines and screens. This is what NOW Foundation‘s video project  Let’s Talk About It” is all about.

In celebration of the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week that is taking place from February 20-26, 2011, the NOW Foundation’s Love Your Body Campaign partners with the National Eating Disorder Association through the launching of a video campaign encouraging women and girls to talk about body image on camera. NEDAwarenessLogo2011 Crystal Renn, Kate Dillon and Chenese Lewis Supports NOW Foundations Video Campaign for NEDAwareness Week Media and advertisements are influential in shaping society’s culture and perspective about body image, making them believe that to be beautiful and confident is to have a stick-thin body.  With this distorted mindset towards beauty, low self-esteem has become prevalent in women and girls causing them to suffer from eating disorders just to conform to the dictates of the society.

Nevertheless, the media is also a powerful tool to raise people’s awareness about body image and size acceptance. The “Let’s Talk About It” video project encourages women to tell their own stories to put an end to this to this crazy fad.

Ford Models Kate Dillon, Amy Lemons and Crystal Renn are intimately familiar with the struggles related to body image. To help launch the “Let’s Talk About It” video project, they shared their stories and voices, along with actor Lynn Chen, editor Lisa Lee, model and Hollywood NOW president Chenese Lewis, author Nancy Redd, activist Shelby Knox and editor Sunny Gold.

“I encourage everyone to make a video and post it online,” said Erin Matson, the NOW Foundation Education Vice-President.  “Your voice might be the one that reaches a girl or woman who is struggling with her self-image. And together, the more videos we create, the more we become part of the solution.”
