My review of Author Golda Poretsky’s book was in no way solicited nor was she aware that I even read her book. I purchased a copy just like anyone else. My intention is to give my fair and honest review of this book for my readers.
Right off the bat Golda tackles the dieting myth and states emphatically that diets don’t work. She very craftily went about laying out her case and in a short time I felt myself personally relating to her points.
I don’t want to give away the books content but one of the points that specifically rang true with me was that forbidden foods made me want them all the more and after I give in and ate it I felt guilty. And it is precisely this guilt that Golda wants us to get away from. My thoughts at this point was it’s not the food that makes me feel guilty but an undue perception of the demonized foods in our society.
This book is a very easy and short read and well worth the meager price I paid for it and in the end I feel like she delivered on her promise and that I gained a better perception of my body, food and the things I enjoy about life. I don’t think I will ever go on a diet again.
