Sara is  an awesome celebrity with an awesome figure.  She is an award winning Mexican-American actress and singer who is known  for her role as Dr. Callie Torres in Grey’s Anatomy, and as the original Lady of the Lake in the 2005 Broadway musical Spamalot that won her the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in Musical. • Plus Size Celebrity Gabourey Sidibe

Actress and Academy Award Nominee for Precious, Gabourey Sidibe appears in a recently released trailer “Yelling to the Sky”. The movie was selected to be shown at the SXSW Film Festival which takes place in Texas March 11 – 20, 2011. Yelling To The Sky is reportedly about 3 sisters, one of which is struggling between a life of crime and a life of purpose.

Sidibe is currently filming “Tower Heist,” a film by Brett Ratner and also starring Ben Stiller, Zachary Levi, Casey Affleck, Matthew Broderick and Eddie Murphy.

Amoung Gabourey’s achievements are: ‘Precious’ and ‘The Big C’ as well NAACP Image Award, Independent Spirit Award and Black Reel Award.

Plus size stars have won some of the major awards at the recent British Comedy Awards 2011. Miranda Hart, a plus size English writer, actress and stand-up comedienne won the Best New TV Comedy for her sitcom “Miranda” on UK television and was nominated for Best Sitcom.  The sitcom Miranda was written by Miranda Hart herself.

She also won the Best Female Comedy Actress and was voted number one by the viewers in the People’s Choice Award.

Jo Brand, another popular plus size English star won the Best Female TV Comic award. Jo Brand is a published author and is also best known for her stand up and world’s funniest comedy shows

This was indeed a big fat winning moment for the plus size community.

After having played various roles on hit television shows, Raven-Symone is back to play Georgia in “The Great State of Georgia”, the ABC Family‘s new half-hour multi-camera comedy series pilot. Georgia is the central character in the sitcom who is a full figured performer from the south who tries to build a name for herself in the world of acting in New York.

Indeed great,  Raven-Symone is a Disney star from the hit Disney Channel original series, “That’s So Raven”. Apart from the Disney role as ‘Raven’ and the many other top TV role performances that Raven-Symone has done,  she is also best remembered as Olivia Kendall on the top rated The Cosby Show.

Cast members also include actor Brock Cuchna who plays the character of Georgia’s ex-boyfriend who comes all the way from the south to New York just to pursue her again.

A project from the ABC Studios, “The Great State of Georgia” was written by author Jennifer Weiner and Primetime Emmy Winning Producer/Writer Jeff Greenstein.

Few months ago I’ve posted a blog about Sonja Elise Freeman, the Ms. Greater Houston Texas Plus America. Dubbed as a Queen Diva, Sonja is a Psalmist/Musician, Bible Teacher, Life Coach, Beauty/Fashion Consultant, Author, etc. She is a gifted woman who opts to use those gifts for God’s glory. She loves to share her testimony of her faith in God, finds joy in serving for others, and inspires and encourages others through her gift of music.

Sonja had competed in the Miss Plus America Pageant in 2009 and is back for the 2011 competition under the Ms Texas Plus America Delegates. As a woman of God, she deserves to win a crown in the pageant. However, whatever happens in the course of the competition, she is already a winner in God’s eyes. After all, God is more interested in our character than in our achievements.

In a blog that she wrote, I agree with her to say that miracle happens every single day. Each time we get up from bed in the morning is a miracle. The food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe are miracles.

Each day brings a promise for a miracle that we hope for to unveil before our very own eyes of understanding. We just need to liberate ourselves from any negative emotion that may be lingering in our hearts, to keep an appreciative attitude for every good thing, big or small, that comes our way, and to keep a grateful attitude towards others and above all else towards God, the greatest and the one and only miracle worker in our life.
