Crystal Renn Says: “A Model Is Still A Model, Independent of Size”

Negative remarks on the plus size industry was recently heard from Designer Julien MacDonald, a new judge of  Britain’s Next  Top Model reality TV show that will soon premier in the U.K.   He called the plus size models a joke.    Some key personalities did not keep their silence, but express their reactions to this issue.

In response to Mr. MacDonald’s criticism to plus size models,  the famous international model Crystal Renn wrote an article for the Independent.   She says “A model is still a model, independent of size”. She does not like the term ‘plus size’.  .

Another outspoken and unwavering curvy leader,  Gwendolyn DeVoe who is a former plus size model and executive director of Full Figured Fashion Week had a few but  loud words to Mr. MacDonald:  “. . . You don’t know what you’re talking about.  Get a Life.” Please check this out on this video.

Certainly, not everyone agrees with Mr. MacDonald.  The young Crystal Renn herself is a size 16 and the world’s most successful plus size model.  On the other hand Ms. Devoe, an epitome of a real woman,  is an authority in the plus size fashion.  She is a former plus size model  who now specializes in plus modeling, training, development and management.  She is the Founder and CEO of DeVoe Signature Events, a full service events production and management company that organizes the recently held second annual Full Figured Fashion Week in New Year City, which is the much talked about fashion event of the year that created a landmark in the landscape of fashion.:-)
